Paoli Real Estate
The upscale census designated place known as Paoli is located on Philadelphia's famous Main Line, a collection of affluent suburbs. Originally the western terminus point of Philadelphia's Main Line (it has since moved one stop further to the borough of Malvern) the railroad route known as the "Paoli Local" was iconic to locals in Philadelphia's western suburbs.
Like every other Main Line community, Paoli is an extremely desirable place to live. While located farther from Philadelphia than other Main Line towns, it is still only a 45 minute commute to Center City Philadelphia by the popular Septa R5 line.
While Paoli falls entirely within Chester County, it is located in the portions of three different townships. Those townships are Willistown, Easttown and Tredyffrin. The students in Paoli attend the Great Valley School District and the Tredyffrin Easttown School District.
In roughly 1760, Joshua Evans started the Paoli Inn. It was around the inn that the town of Paoli grew. Evans got the property for the inn from his father who had purchased 500 acres from William Penn in 1719. The town was named in honor of the Pasquale Paoli, a Corsican General; of note historically is the Paoli massacre, which occurred in Malvern, an adjacent borough to the west of Paoli in 1777 during the American Revolutionary War.
